Guangzhou, Guangdong Harnesses AI to Empower Intelligent Intellectual Property Services

On May 28, the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Protection Center (hereinafter referred to as the ("Guangzhou IP Protection Center") hosted a dedicated event on smart empowerment for intellectual property public services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Guangzhou. Focusing on "AI + Intellectual Property" smart services, the event aimed to precisely empower SME innovation and development while supporting the cultivation of new quality productive forces.


Under the theme "Smart Empowerment for Industrial Growth and Enterprise Development" the event closely aligned with the development needs of Guangzhou's key industries. It brought together intellectual property experts from universities, specialized and innovative enterprises ("Little Giant" enterprises), and industry associations. Through demonstrations of AI-enabled platform functions, presentations on AI-powered intellectual property services, practical sharing on patent commercialization and operation, and interpretation of authoritative guidelines on the utilization of national intellectual property information resources, the event provided SMEs with targeted and scenario-based "AI + IP" professional services.

 

During the event, a promotional video of the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Public Service Platform was showcased, offering participants an overview of the platform's intelligent service functions, distinctive advantages, and achievements in supporting enterprises. The presentation enabled attendees to gain a comprehensive understanding of the platform's innovative "AI + IP" service model and encouraged enterprises to make full use of available public service resources.


The platform incorporates a range of intelligent and practical functions, including online patent diagnostics, panoramic intellectual property analysis reports for enterprises, and enterprise IP self-management tools. These features are designed to address SMEs' practical needs in intellectual property management and control, routine administration, patent analysis, and innovation planning, providing efficient digital and intelligent support for enterprise innovation and development.


During the keynote session, Qin Xia, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property and Information Services Department of the Library of South China University of Technology, delivered a presentation entitled "AI Empowering Intellectual Property Innovation". Drawing on practical case studies, she systematically explained innovative applications of artificial intelligence in patent searching and retrieval optimization, intellectual property risk early warning, and industrial patent landscape analysis.


Wang Jidong, Product Director of Guangzhou CAS Yuntu Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. and Assistant Dean of Yuntu Academy, shared insights on "From Patent Portfolio Strategy to Scenario-Based Applications: Practical Pathways for Patent Commercialization and Utilization",  highlighting approaches to transforming patented technologies into market-oriented applications.


During the event, Chen Xinyi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Guangdong Patent Information Association, introduced the "Guidelines for the Analysis and Utilization of Intellectual Property Information", helping enterprises make standardized and effective use of patent information resources.
