To further advance the development of Foshan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone as a national intellectual property (IP) powerhouse demonstration zone, leverage high-value patent development to drive innovation and upgrading in the robotics industry, and promote deeper integration between intellectual property and the development of high-tech industries, a specialized training session on high-value patent development for the robotics industry was successfully held on August 13 at the Roadshow Center of the Foshan Science and Technology Achievement Market.

Themed "Foshan High-Tech Zone IP Empowerment Series – Specialized Training on High-Value Patent Development for the Robotics Industry", the event was hosted by the Management Committee of Foshan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and organized by Guangdong Equity Exchange Center Co., Ltd., with support from the Guangdong University Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Center, Foshan Robotics Industry Innovation Association, Guangdong Chuangzhi Intellectual Property Operation Services Co., Ltd., and other organizations.

The event brought together more than 30 participants and focused on the key needs of the robotics industry. Discussions covered high-value patent development, IP-based financial innovation, technology commercialization, and other key topics, providing practical support for Foshan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in cultivating new quality productive forces and promoting industrial upgrading.

The training was closely aligned with the technological innovation characteristics of the robotics industry and its demand for high-value patent development. Based on the development of the robotics industry in Foshan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the program covered IP-based financial innovation and the application of data intellectual property, strategies for developing and strategically positioning high-value patents in the robotics industry, as well as pathways for commercializing scientific and technological achievements and the promotion of high-value robotics-related patent achievements. The sessions addressed key business needs from multiple perspectives, including IP-based financial empowerment, high-value patent development, and industry-academia-research collaboration.

During the training, the Guangdong Equity Exchange Center delivered a presentation on IP-based financial innovation and the application of data intellectual property in the robotics industry. The session provided a systematic overview of various innovative IP financing models and explored practical approaches to applying data intellectual property in the robotics sector. These initiatives are expected to help companies unlock the value of their intangible assets, enhance the value of their IP assets, and broaden their access to diversified financing channels.

The Guangdong Intellectual Property Research Association focused on high-value patent development and strategic positioning in the robotics industry. The presentation provided a systematic analysis of key areas including high-value patent identification, tiered development of high-value patents, infringement risk mitigation, and comprehensive patent portfolio planning. Through practical and accessible guidance on the entire high-value patent development process, the session helped companies identify key areas of technological innovation, establish comprehensive IP protection strategies, and strengthen their technological competitive advantages.

The Guangdong University Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Center focused on the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, covering relevant procedures, cooperation models, and key considerations. The session helped bridge the gap between university innovation resources and the technological needs of enterprises, providing an effective platform for technological upgrading and deeper industry-academia-research collaboration, and accelerating the commercialization of innovative achievements.

Going forward, Foshan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone will continue to focus on enterprises' needs for innovation and high-value patent development and carry out targeted, professional, and regular IP empowerment initiatives covering the entire IP lifecycle, including creation, protection, utilization, management, and services.
