Judy Tan is a partner and senior patent attorney at Chuanmo Intellectual Property Law Firm with extensive experience in Mainland China patent prosecution, patent search, patent reexamination, patent invalidation, patentability analysis, design applications, and selected dispute-related support.
Ms. Tan graduated from Hunan University in 1995 with Master’s degrees in Bioengineering and Chemical Process. Before formally entering intellectual property practice in 1997, she worked as a legal assistant at China Resources Pharmaceutical Group Limited, where she assisted with patent invalidation and infringement-related matters.
Over the years, Ms. Tan has handled a large number of patent applications and design applications for clients in different technical fields. Her practice focuses especially on chemical engineering, polymer materials, genetic engineering, cytobiology, pharmaceutical technologies, and related technical areas.
Ms. Tan is experienced in patent drafting support, responses to office actions, patent searches, patent reexamination, patent invalidation, and patentability analysis. She also supports clients in selected infringement analysis and dispute-related matters where technical understanding and patent validity issues are important.
At Chuanmo, Ms. Tan has led and supported patent search and analysis projects for companies, universities, and research-related clients. She also conducts intellectual property training and lectures for companies and universities, helping clients better understand patent protection, technical disclosure, filing strategy, and IP risk management in China.
